There are many people who trim their nails very short because of the bad habit of biting their nails, resulting in pockmarked, short and flat nails, which is very unattractive.
In fact you can repaire your damaged nails and get the perfect nail shape by yourself. The following nail care procedure will give you tips of how to deal with it.
I didn’t believe it at first, but then I found a living example around me.
Knowing Basic Structure of Your Nails
Well, think of it this way. The nail that is on the surface is not the whole nail; there is also a part of the nail that grows behind and can’t be seen.
The area where the nail meets the fingertip is called the free edge, also known as the “smile line”. You can also see more specific nail structures.
Principle of Nail Care: How to repair
Most people have short nails because the free edge is too far in.

Just let the smile line grow forward and push back the cuticle on the nail.
This will make your nail bed longer and make it easier to get a nice nail shape.
Without further ado, let’s get started.
Step1. Trim Your Nails Correctly
Use a nail clipper to trim your nails to the right length.
Don’t trim the nail to the root, keep it about 2 millimetres.
And if your nails are short, trim them almost parallel to your finger.
The length of your nails is key. Shorter nails hardly to be protective, but long nails will be more easily to get nail fungus.
Step2. Remove Nail Cuticles
The second important thing is to remove the ugly cuticle. Use hot water to soften the cuticle around the nail first, then push the cuticle gently with this cuticle pusher.
Don’t be afraid to do this as it doesn’t hurt. Then take a pair of scissors and cut them off patiently. You can also use these angled nail clippers to cut it off.
There are a lot of manicure kits available online, so feel free to search for them. They are not expensive anyway.
Step3. Apply Nail Strenthener
The third step is the nail strengthener.
I bought it quite a while ago. This small bottle can last for a long time
Cutting the cuticle is not only to make the top skin of the nail push back, but more importantly to help the absorption of this nail strengthener.
It helps the nail to become stronger and less likely to be broken. When the nail is able to protect itself, your smile line will slowly grow forward.
I usually brush it every other day, then remove it every week with nail polish remover.
Step4. Apply Cuticle Oil
After dry nail polish, apply the cuticle oil to the edges of your nails. It nourishes dry, brittle, cracked cuticles.
Okay, that’s the end of the nail care process. You can apply a little more hand cream than usual.
If you can stop biting your hands and pulling out the handnails, you will see a difference in two months.
