Beetles Gel Polish
I used to get my nails done at the salon up until the pandemic hit. Now I won’t go back there. I tried to do French manicures at home by using the exact same products and steps that my salon used, but I just couldn’t duplicate the same quality. I had alot of lifting and chipping within days. They were also hard to remove and doing that really damaged my nails. So I gave up and have had split, broken, raggedy looking nails ever since. I hate having raggedy nails.Fast forward to June 2022. I really missed having a nice mani. I feel more put together and love when my nails look pretty. I bought this Beetles kit along with their builder gel after seeing another review with a picture of a lovely French gel manicure on natural nails. The price was affordable and I could return if needed, so I de……Read More

Apparently this was the only picture I took before removing it, hah. The color is brighter than I had hoped based on the listing images, but it is still a fine color. I can’t compare it to other polish because this is the first time I’ve tried gel, but it seemed to apply easily. I used Gellish base/top and it lasted really nicely for 2 weeks (and I’m super hard on my nails working in a metalsmith studio). The main drawback is that it’s fairly sheer. I applied 3 coats and it was still a bit transparent, but I was tired and didn’t add more. It took me so long to apply each coat trying not to get any on my cuticles or finger tips, that having to apply extra coats to be more opaque is not ideal.…Read More

First learned about Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil this Summer when my manicurist in Dubai used it for a manicure/pedicure. She raved about the oil, and sent me home with a sample.Six months later, this wonderful oil has been a daily part of my skin care routine, for both my hands and feet. The oil has a nice, light Apricot fragrance, absorbs quickly (not greasy), and is extremely moisturizing.Something my manicurist also shared with me is that this oil is quite effective for toenail fungus. To increase the effect, it can also be mixed with a few drops of Tea Tree Oil (50/50 solution).Brush the oil on the tops of the nail, and massage into the surrounding skin, twice daily.Great product, and Amazon has the best price!…Read More

I have tried a couple different polishes for matte. Simply put they will all not stay as well as regular polish or gel matte top coats. It’s a bummer but if you really want matte, it may last a couple days for an event.…Read More

I used to always mess up my manicure before I started using Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Nail Coat. It didn’t matter how long I waited – I would always mess it up. Now I use it every time I do my nails to get a quick dry and protection with a high gloss finish. I even take it to the nail salon with me for them to use as my top coat so I don’t mess up my nails after leaving the salon. I also use it to protect my nails and keep them from chipping in between manicures. I can put on several coats of polish without worrying about it drying – I don’t skimp but put on a thick amount after the polish and it always seems to dry quickly. I also touch up my nails in between manicures by either using a coat of Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat or a coat of polish followed by SV Top Coat. It is also easy to ……Read More
