Purchased this gel topper to add to a new IKEA mattress which felt like an ironing board. This gel topper is very comfortable once one is settled onto it but presents some challenges for me getting on the bed and changing positions. I gave 4 stars since this challenge could be specific to me since I am dealing with major orthopedic issues making mobility in general difficult.One negative was the fact that it was about 3” longer than my standard size mattress—-maybe because of the IKEA brand mattress? My mattress is getting older but I didn’t want to replace it yet. My friend recommended I get a memory foam topper, so I looked into different brands. I decided to get this one because I’ve always had good experiences with sealy. I’m so happy I purchased this one! I have neck/back pain, and this topper has improved my sleep quality and I wake up feeling refreshed now. My back doesn’t hurt as bad and it feels like sleeping on a cloud. It really does what it says. I feel like I am sleeping cooler now and I am no longer experiencing night sweats even in summer. I like that the gel foam has some weight to it so the topper stays in place and I never have to readjust. Im psyched that Amazon is now shipping mattresses. I hate mattress shopping/returning and exchanging. This was shipped quickly and right to my door. It came in a big cardboard box, and inside the mattress was encased in the thick plastic bag I am used to seeing with mattresses. The delivery was so convenient, Amazon lets you pick a time frame and I was able to select a time frame that did not require me to take time off of work as I have had to do with other furniture/mattress deliveries in the past. First night on the new mattressIt is much harder/firmer than I was expecting. I’m 6’0″ 225lbs and I get a little sink in feeling but just barely noticeable. “Cloud-like” pillow top? Pretty sure the person writing the description never tried this mattress out. It’s ok. Great quality, super stout, shipping was fast and the mattress came very well packaged.But Sealy seems to be changing their measuring system. We have a Sealy mattress from a few years ago that is also marked as a medium softness and it has been heavenly since the day we brought it home.
